Zed Run has changed drastically since the first winning strategy was posted to ZG. It is due time we revisit how to best take advantage of the tools and resources now available within the Zed Run ecosystem. This article will take a dive into what I do to be successful in this game.

Basics
Zed Run’s ecosystem is growing exponentially with new resources for breeding, data collection, and streams popping up constantly. Stables will need to familiarize themselves with the bloodlines and the breeds of Zed horses. There are four bloodlines with different populations, and 5 breeds with different breed outcomes. Below are the bloodline and breed charts, and an example of breed outcomes would be a genesis breeding with a genesis to make a legendary breed horse. Zed horse coat colors are important to some, and you can read my assessment here.

Research
Zed Run is a game of discovery and there are a multitude of community driven projects to help new stables succeed. On ZedGazette, you can find articles for stable construction, inbreeding, twins, assessing value, and more in the top articles. Doofy Racing offers guides and streaming content, and Posiedon Racing has a YouTube channel available for viewing. Zed can be as simple as buying good horses on a premium and racing, or as complicated as studying genetics and family lineage to breed champions. There is no correct way to play, but it is valuable to spend the time to find out how.

Data
Data is important in Zed Run, and none more so than the odds provided from PlayWithZest and the Zed Run Discord. There are many community driven projects that will provide historical odds for your horses. ZedStats.Run, KnowYourHorses, SigmaStables, PaintedPonies, ZedRunInsights, and ZedRun.Tools are all available for stables to study their horses race history and lineage. Finding a horse with sub 15 odds is valuable, and not all “glue factory” horses are not meant for green pastures. We are still early in the discovery process, and do not know which puzzle pieces work best together in breeding.

Community
Community participation is necessary for all Zed Run stables. Building family trees of inbred horses will take allies and teamwork to breed champion for a large percentage of Zed users. Large breeding teams or syndicates will work together to harpoon crypto whales in their starting gates. Join the Zed Run, Doofy Racing, Pony Plug, Trotting Tycoon and many more Discord servers and begin a conversation.

Wrap it Up
To wrap it up, it is important to remember that Zed Run is a game of skill that will require teamwork. Working with the data provided through the listed community projects will assist users in finding their horse’s preferences and family trees. In the end, play the game that is right for you.
